Guests can take advantage of specialty themed cruises during late winter and early spring sailings on Disney Cruise line.
Typically scheduled between January and March, Disney has hosted Star Wars Day at Sea cruises, Marvel Day at Sea and more recently, a Pixar Day at Sea themed sailing. The designation doesn’t generally happen when the booking window opens for those cruises but is typically announced 6-9 months prior to the sailing.
The Day at Sea cruises have specialty-themed events throughout the cruise, but primarily during a sea day where there are exclusive character meet and greets, movies, shows, activities and specialty drinks and menus surrounding the designated theme.
The Disney Magic hosts the Marvel Day at Sea while the Fantasy was the host for the Star Wars Day at Sea and Pixar Day at Sea sailings.
The Magic options typically include 5-night Bahamian or Western Caribbean sailings which now sail from their newest terminal in Fort Lauderdale.
The Fantasy currently alternates between 7-night Western and Eastern Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral.
These special cruises make a traditional day at sea just a little more magical with characters you don’t typically see while cruising.
On our recent Pixar Day at Sea cruise we enjoyed the Howdy Dudey Breakfast with Jesse, Woody and Bullseye. There is not an additional fee for this experience. It can be reserved in advance when your booking window opens as well as on the ship if there is availability.
If meeting Captain America, Spiderman, Mike Wazowski, or the Incredibles on your next sailing, contact your travel advisor and let them know to keep you in mind when they are released.
Even if a Star Wars or Marvel Day at Sea aren’t available for your sailing dates, you can take advantage of some of the theming on the Disney Wish which has a Worlds of Marvel restaurant and Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge available.
Disney also offers holiday themed cruises with their Halloween on the High Seas and the Very Merrytime Sailings.
